The HOWL R3 brings real radiant heat to three-season camping in a package small enough to live in your truck full time. Folded, it measures 18 x 12 x 5.8 in., about half the packed volume of the R4 MKii.
It runs two burners off one knob. The BarCoal U-tube heats to 1,100ºF and puts out infrared heat much like a bed of wood coals, so you stay warm even when the air is cold. The A-Flame burner adds tall, exposed flames for light and ambiance. If wind blows the flame out, it relights from the BarCoal's exhaust.
Built for bad weather: the concealed BarCoal air intake is unaffected by high winds, both burners are self-draining after rain or snow, and combustion stays clean at any altitude. No smoke, embers or ash, and it's UL certified for use during many Stage I and Stage II fire restrictions where gas appliances are allowed. Check your local regulations.
